i tried to get this thing changed this weekend and it was a bitch to do without taking off the bumper and the ic pipes. so when i got down to it the bottom of the filter would not come off of the hard line fuel feed. i thought it started to break loose... but it was my wrench that was rounding off the nut. so what should i do now? if i round off that nut then i wont be able to replace it because it is mounted to the hard line right? so what do i do now? should i take it somewhere and have them do it or what can i do?

hmm what kinda 2GNT you got? 95 or 96+ if so I'll have a write up tonight of how to do it hehe just did mine. Your suppose to get two wrenches a 19 and the fuel line size on and kinda use one as an anchor so you don't bend up the line. that's if you got a 95. You had to take the bumper off dude?! haha I say cut that mofo star piping and use a coupler to seal it back up. My piping is some ghetto ass stuff so it's easy to take apart.

yeah hades i have a 95 and i did not take the bumper off but if i had i would have had more room to work. i do know how to change the filter but when i did it the bottom nut that holds the fuel line to the filter started rounding off rather than turning. i tried liquid wrench and all that but it wouldn't budge my wrench just kept slipping. so i'm wondering what to do now

I believe that you are supposed to use a flare wrench on that connection. It is like a box end wrench, but has a cut in the end so you can slip it past the hard line. That would give you more surface to grip the "nut". Sorry I didn't think about that when you asked earlier.

ok so this is probally a stupid ? but if you are working on the fuel filter and trying to loosten the bottom nut on the hard line do you turn it clockwise or counter clockwise i'm thinking if your looking straight on then you would be turning the wrench twards the driver side

i'd personally take it somewhere to let them do it. i fucked mine up and ended up accidently twisting the bottom part of the fuel line off. i to thought that i was just starting to break loose. luckily i got it towed some where and it only cost 150 bucks to fit.
