I dont understand all of the HRC stage 1 instusctions about setting FP. I have everything hooked up and the gauge on my windsheild...when i turn the key over i get a sudden blast of 40 psi then it slowly drops to around 20...my car will run...is it set right ...how do i set it?....oh yea when i road tested it it wouldnt go any hihger than 5psi..maybe it is because the hood smushes the FP guague...maybe not...you htink the gauge might be fauly becasue my car runs and idle great.

Don't worry, I only hit like 4 psi on my Stage 1. It must be the pressure drop from the piping or something. At idle, you are supposed to set it between 47-55 psi. Cruising, somewhere around 60. Then at WOT, 80-90. Well, the Cartech FPR that came with a kit is a piece of shit. You WILL end up have to adjust the idle almost every single time you start the car. Here's a little advice; what I do is set the FPR between 55-60, because I know with a little bit of driving around, it's FP is gonna drop sooner or later. OR, you can just get the Vortech SFMU and be happy.

Oh yeah, as far as setting it. Let the car idle, watch your FP gauge, loosen the nut on top of the FPR, and slowly turn the screw with an Allen wrench, then tighten the nut back up. You might wanna hold the screw with the Allen wrench while you are tightening the nut.

With the WOT setting, it is really more of a trial and error procedure. I believe with the HRC manual; it said to turn the screw (with a spring), on the left side of the idle pressure screw, all the way in. Then turn it back out around 2 full turns. Drive the car and make sure that the FP is around 80-90. If not adjust in and out accrodingly. Good Luck!!!!!!!
