Ok, let me start off by saying that while I have not posted here a lot in the past, I have been "lurking" for a little while now. I have already learned a lot but still have a long way to go. The only ones i really know on here are Kris (RobotechDSM) and Kyle (Fast420a) but i have gained a lot of info from pretty much everyone who posts.
That being said, I finally got my Star Stage II done today and I must say that I absoutely love it. Of course, however, there are a few small problems that i have questions on. Please forgive me if i ask some repeat questions, Im still in the "What the fuck was that noise?" stage.
1. My Joe P MBC was missing the little adjustment screw so im gonna have to send that back and get an new one. So without a BC, im only running 4psi, which i guess is a good thing as you will see in Problem #2
2. For some reason my Westach probe is not working with my Autometer EGT Gauge. Im gonna have to get with Kyle/Kris and see how there's is wired up. This leads me to the question. At 4psi, intercooled, with my A/F gauge reading well into the rich range at WOT, Should i be worried about it getting too hot until i get the gauge working?
3 I was wondering what the A/F gauge is supposed to do at idle. I thought it was supposed to switch between rich/lean, and it seems like that is what it was doing when i first got it. Now it just sits in the Stoich range. Is this Normal?
4 Finally, is the HKS BOV supposed to sound kinda like a light turkey gobble (for lack of a better description) followed by a light "psssss"?
Thanks for your help, I definitely wouldnt have made this big change to my car if i didnt have the helpful tech support of everyone on here.

everyone with that star kit.. take off the adapter between the turbo inlet and the air filter.. you don't really need it there.. just looks good. When you do you will notice that you won't hear that gobble noise (surge) over your BOV. Also.. the noise went away completely when I put on my N1 (3" exhaust).

well the reason mine makes the turkey gobble sound (well it's not a SS but it flutters) is because the piping I used was 2.5" pretty fat stuff. It's made for more boost so it flutters. Randy has a starion and 2 inch piping and it sounds fine he tells me. Bwahaha I took my car up to 7psi today though and a loud PSHHHH is all I could hear bwahahaha!!!!

id say you will be fine, but i wouldnt push too hard until you get it hooked up just to be safe ya know

im guessing you have the blinky light one. ive never seen one of those in person, but i would think that it should jump around at idle and non-WOT conditions

thats the sound of an HKS. mine does the same thing. i think it sounds sweet. one you turn up your boost to 6-7 lbs, it makes a very nice sound. very unique. and with the way the SS is designed, it wont leak boost. good choice on your part

Im definitely gonna take it easy until i get my EGT working. The problem i found out was that the Westach Probe wire turned out to not be long enough and apparently, a regular wire extention just wont cut it. No biggie though, just gonna order a longer piece of Type-K wire from Team Rip (Unless someone has a better suggestion on how to get it quicker)
Thanks for the tip RAIZIN, I took off that extention and it sounds a lot better now.

Congrats for Boost man. Just keep in mind that 4 psi for HRC and Star are completely different. Running 8 is borderline for Star. If you want to increase your chances for longevity, with proper maintanance, keep boost aroud 6. Yeah, you need that EGT issue taken care of ASAP. Anyway, enjoy your newfound power and always take care of her. Good Luck man. You are Super
