I want to avoid running a S-AFC if I can. What ECU options are available without paying a an arm and a leg for a setup nightmare (ie Haltech standalone)?

The ESi that I had that my brother bought from me went to the big junkyard in the sky. I managed to strip most of the parts and seeing that I got all these goodies for the 420a, I convinced him to buy another 420a...heeheh Besides, there happened to be a low mileage ESi, so we jumped on that oppurtunity.
Since I'll be redoing the turbo install the 2nd time around, I want to make sure I do it right. No more messing around with super high fuel pressures etc.. If there is anything that I've learned, it's the importance of a correct fuel management setup. (For my 4g63, I've coughed up my hard earnings for the DSMLINK (www.dsmlink.com), which basically is a reprogrammed ECU, so no need for SAFC).

The link to the seller is on my 8 injector page. But, I'm working on a group buy for those EIC's. We're looking at under $260 apiece, if we can get a few people together. I might start collecting orders in a few weeks. I'm just too busy now.

AEM is just as expensive as a haltech.

If I were to recommend any stand alone ECU, I wouldn't hesitate and go with either TTIRacing's plug'n play ECU for the 420a specifically, OR the TECIII or IV's that are out right now. They actually run with an intuitive learning ecu that doesn't only require a wideband O2 sensor for tuning. It can actually learn by reading your sensors and adjust. It's very slick.
