Well the faster the air goes in the engine, the faster it goes out. That outgoing air is what spools the turbo, so technically it is true. That doesn't mean you will see boost though just from revving. The engine needs a load on it to produce any useable amount of boost. Simply revving it with the clutch in won't "spool" the turbo, but it will spin it a bit faster.

I thought you are seeing boost when revving your engine? Hence the fact that your bov goes off. You're building boost then when you left off it's vented. I don't know, just what I assumed I guess.
*Nevermind, I just realized what he was asking. Yeah, you can't tone up your engine so when you launch you're at full-boost. Refer to above post for correct answer *

yes it can be done with your ignition. The way the 4g63 awd guys do i is with a 2step rev limiter(msd). They can actually build a respectful 5-9 psi off the line. I dont think this would work with my car. I realize everyone wants to launch hard. It wont happen unless you have slicks and the 555r's dont count I'm talking the full 14inch rim and slick combo. You dont need to build boost and tear ass out of the hole. It just doesnt seem to me like that would be a street car anymore. I launch and get rolling about 10-15mph and then the car screams all over the place(uncontrollable)(had to take off powersteering)well anyways just my thoughts late mike
