I've noticed that ever since I switched to stage iv, the heat that radiates from under the hood seems to be hotter than when I were stage "3". Did you guys noticed this or is there something wrong with my engine? I'm worried that something could be wrong. One day, I opened the hood after a driving around all day, and noticed that the coolant in the coolant reservoir tank was almost bubbly. However, the oem engine temp gauge is normal (right in the middle). Also, I noticed that coolant has been leaking from under the thermostat cap. I just can't figure out why it's doing that. If the thermostat wouldn't open, wouldn't my engine overheat? But the water temp is normal?

Yeah, I might just buy another one, since it shouldn't be too expensive.
Greg, how's your car running? My car hasn't cut off on me, and it runs pretty good, but I still get this "hesitation" or "jerk" every once in a while, when driving in the streets. Feels like a mis-fire or something. I just can't figure it out. Just out of curiosity, where do you set your Power Tuner, at 15 psi? Mine is: idle--5%, wot -- 1.5 %. Also, I got 8mm NGK plug wires, I wonder if this has anything to do with the rapid, jerking I experience sometimes. Any ideas?

well.. whatever you do.. don't take off the heat sheild.. I took my off when I customized my hood .. and the first thing it did after 20 minutes of starting my car was bubble the paint up.

I actually went to the dealer and bought a heat shield for the turbo car and put it on. Much better now...
The car is running ok, but I haven't had it for a couple of weeks. The body shop has been having problems with a new formulation of paint and won't give me my car back until it's perfect. I'm glad they want to make it right, but I really miss driving my car. There's a whole list of things I want to try out when I get it back though.

Greg, did the turbo heat shield fit right on, or did you have to mod anything to make it fit. I'm thinking about having one made up, but if the turbo shield fits right on, I'l rather buy that. Thanks!

Not the Manifold heat shield, the hood pad. The non-turbo pad is a plain fiber material. The turbo hood pad has a silver reflective material to help direct heat away from the hood. I have heard of turbo guys taking it off and the paint blistering within minutes of a hard run or two. And yes, it fits with absolutely no modifications. Make sure you get new clips, the old ones will be brittle from the turbo heat.

my hood pad is the silver reflective stuff. anyone got a pic of there hod pad. but anyway i put my hood pad on my cf hood just incase it got a little to hot.
