what brand synthetic do you recommend, and what grade(10w30?)

Amsoil and Mobil 1 are probably the most used in high performance cars. Try 10w30 in the winter, and 10w40 in the summer.

I run 5w30 in the winter, and 10w30 in the summer. You should change your oil as much as you can afford it, I change mine approx every 1000-1500 miles at the worst.. You can never change it too much.
