I recommend AGAINST the autometer probe. They are slow and cost too much. I got my probe from www.teamrip.com for $38. It's cheap and is EXTREMELY fast responding.

depends on which autometer probe you get. they make a lot of em. autometer egt probe #5244 is plenty fast acting, nearly repsonds as quick as the tach. ive heard people try and use 5243, and say its slow as hell, but since its intended for top fuel and alcohol cars, im sure they havent different needs for a temp probe. the cheaper autometer probes (5247 and 5249) are all supposedly kinda slow too, but i havent seem in em person. alls i know mine reacts plenty fast.

egt is worth whatever you can get it for... ill tell you right now, i spent more than 120 for mine. its likely the most valueable guage you can have

Is your engine worth $120? I also have the Autometer EGT, and it works great. Buy it from Summit and ground shipping is free. Can't beat that.

I have a 52mm white face greddy egt. It works great too. An egt is a very very important thing to have. It did cost a good bit ($165), but it was worth it. justin

haven't had it for long but I believe it's worth it. It's a good tuning tool if you wanna get the most out of your boost and it'll save your engine like they say would you rather spend 100 bux now or 1000+ bux later on.

I have an Autometer 5744 Pyrometer bought from turbotrix as a kit for 140. Turbotrix said it was better than the EGT gauge because the probe is better. Seems fast acting to me. Haven't noticed anyproblems with it yet. Oh yes haha I did run into one problem which is my stupid fault. I ran the probe wire through the steering boot and in between the battery and the engine. that was a big no no because I couldn't see it but the wire was touching the EGR tube and it melted the wire insulation and was shorting out on the tube so I got some whacky EGT readings until I rerouted it and fixed it. Now my AF gauge is acting all wacky because of it emoji
