would a bad ground cause the a/f meter to read richer? someone said to test the ground, cruise at like 30-40mph, and just let off, and if the meter doesnt go negative, the ground is fine. well, mine doesnt go negative, goes really close to 0.

i know other people have had extremely lean readings with a bad ground, could the opposite occur as well?

im asking, b/c i still get around 1.0v readings, despite having much lower fuel pressures. a/f reading is a lil lower, but still reads way rich. my egts are fine tho.

could a bad o2 sensor cause rich reading as well?

or is everything fine, and im just that rich?

If you have your A/F grounded to where your S-AFC grounds, then you can have some issures. I grounded my first A/F to one of my S-AFC grounds and got really crazy #'s like 1.2V max. Then I moved the ground to a regular body ground and got negative #'s like -0.2V min. Finally, I moved the ground to where the ECU grounds to the chassis. With the 40 mph test, my minimum #'s were -0.002V and maximum #'s of 1.001V. That is the best you can expect.

Numbers around 1V as a maximum aren't unusual. I get numbers like 1.001V from 5-6.5k RPM when I drop to 2nd gear (AT) on the interstate while boosting up a mountain. O2 voltage drops to more reasonable 0.94-0.96V when I hit 3rd. It doesn't worry me. You may consider it possible that your injectors are flowing more than you think. I found that I had to drop my fuel pressures more than I expected when I put in my new Ford injectors. I don't know if it is the extra coil resistance or pintle design, but I have to lower the fuel pressure 11% lower than I expected. Maybe you are just running that rich. The equations also err on the rich side. If you estimate the fuel needed for an HRC kit and compare it to what HRC recommends, you will see a difference (HRC recommends leaner than the calculations).

Oh yeah...I "think" O2 sensors start to react slower and give lower voltages when they age (but don't quote me).

man, i didnt know u were an auto emoji me too (but i hate it, lol)

ill try regrounding it to the ecu ground to see if that matters.

right now, i have it grounded to a point where the dash is bolted in underneath, right next to the driver side door...my gauges and TT have the same ground.
