i've got a 98 so i know i SHOULD need (have) one, but the shop keeps telling me i don't. here's the deal. the turbo went on just after xmas and a few months later the fuel pump died. inbetween the car ran great, no problems at all. i just got the pump replaced (it's an msd pump) and it runs fine again, but i still don't have an fcd on there. i was hitting 9psi last night and the only problem i had was that at around 0-1psi it would sometimes start to shake, but 90% of the time nothing happened. anyone have any ideas? the car still isn't dyno tuned for the new fuel pump (that's happening later this week)...... ?

im surprised you can run 9lbs at all..the purpose of the FCD is to tricking the ECU into thinking there is no boost(the ECU automatically cuts fuel when it detects postive press in the manifold_. so that shaking you are getting is prob fuel cut. anyone else wanna add?

yeah i know. my friends integra is the same way, if he goes more than 1psi his car totally craps out. mine has run fine since the day i got it (with respect to getting into boost). and i don't have an fcd of any kind on there, dave and greg on the board both saw my car and can attest to that. i know it's an easy install, but i don't have the $$ this second to get one, either way i was just curious why the hell my car would be any different than everyone else on the board.
that shaking didn't happen at all today while i was driving/racing around town. the car did lose idle once though (rpms goto 0, vac drops to 0, car almost dies, ecu catchs itself, revs up, regains idle) but besides that she ran great.
