#2023, "DAMN, 440's are awesome!!"

Just got my 440's in last night, err should I say early morning...was up till 3AM getting those cursed things in....and just got back from my first round of tuning em. WOW what a difference!! BTW, Thanks to Chris M and Greg for posting up some of your settings. They were good baseline numbers to start off on. Only got upto boosting 12psi today, but man is it already pulling like a racehorse. Bascially spent most of the time tuning low-throttle. Having an EVC would make things alot easier as far as dialing in the boost instead of guessing each time after turning the MBC. I was around -22% on the top end, though, running really rich. So there's still room to turn up the boost further. I'm hoping for 16psi daily. So I'll see how that pans out tomorrow, if it doesn't rain here in Northern VA. I'll keep you all posted.
Any tips you other SAFC guys can offer though, I'd appreciate....

Patrick

Can you post your settings when you get everything tuned? I'm going that route myself, and need a good baseline.

Which kit do you have? Built bottom end? 16 PSI is a lot for stock internals...

Oh yeah, I've definetely got internals. 8.8:1 JE's, shot-peened and polished slugs, .020 overbore, micopolished and balanced crank. Yeah, I would've been outta my mind to run 16psi if I still had stock internals. Also lowered the 12:1 FMU to 6:1...I'm thinking of even going lower to 4:1
I do have the Star stage 2 kit, by the way. Above that and internals, just a ClutchNet 6-puck, NGK-7s&MSD wires, and an Apexi N1 catback with a racepipe.....of course for off-road use only emoji
