I just got off the RRE web sight and it says that their catch can is not smog legal for race cars only. Do any of you guys that have it live in an area where you have to do emissions tests? Do you just unhook it when you go to emissions? I am moving back to the New York Connecticut area soon and they have strict emissions there last time I knew. Just wanted to know before I buy it. I want to buy it today or tomarrow.

We dont hook ours up to the same place. Its not smog legal if you remove the pcv valve and hook it up there but if its attached to the cbh (crankcase breather hose) then its ok.

As far as I understand it anything that vents to the atmosphere is not smog legal. Catch can, or just a breather filter. But for it to matter you would need to be in an area where they do visual inspections.

yep that sound about right to me. not sure but maybe you can pass with a oil seperators. The kinda that seperate the oil but vent the blow by back into the engine. Cost more though O_o, technically it's smog legal. hehe
