okay i have been driving the hell out of my car so i could put the 1000 miles on it. this weekend i got there. so i turned up the boost a little and set the controller to 4 psi. MAN 10.5 compression + boost is great! I really like it. when i put the turbo kit in originally it was great, but this is even greater! the driveability is execellent, the passing power is super! I was on the freeway and going about 50mph stuck behind this slow ass guy and i was like screw this i'm going to pass him, so i stepped on the gas to about 3/4 way down and that shit took off like never before! Man boost and higher compression is great! I am definitely hooked!

Just wait until u turn it up more. When I went from 6 to 8psi it was soo much faster. Im sure its same way w/ everyone in here who rebuilt and are pushing 25psi like Armond. Im scared of his car. -Dave

Hhhhmmm! Maybe I should have went 10:5:1 instead of 8:5:1 But I think it would be more safe for me to run higher boost level's then you??? Not sure, alls I know is for years I have always read,heard and been told low compression is best for Turbo apps.! Hence "Turbo pistons" 8:5:1 comp.ratio

How do you turn the boost up to 4psi when HRC turbo kits are 7psi spring??? NO boost controller will allow you to run lower boost than what the wastegate is set for. Unless you got a different spring?

I got the 6 lb spring for the wastegate, but when you calculate the FMIC pressure drop you only get about 3.8 psi without using the boost controller. so i set it up to go to 4 and i am going to drive it like this for another 500 miles. then i will turn it to 12. lates james

i can't, but before now i didn't boost at all and i had my boost controller shut off so the wastegate was working by itself and you know how that is with the wastegate partially open most of the time. now with the AVCR back in business the boost rises real quick! hehe lates james

How much boost were you running? The reason I am asking is that I want to buy the kit and I want to be able to run 5-7 psi and not worry about breaking anything?

Theres always a chance something will break. your never 100% sure nothing will happen, although keeping the boost low is a good idea if your getting stage 1 HRC like u say in sig. you should get a FMIC to be safe. dsmnt96 who lives near me messed up his bottom end only pushing 5psi non intercooled. Even if you rebuild there are other things that can go wrong. -Dave

Cool thanks for the feedback! At this point I'm not positive on what to do. I would rather spend more time driving my car than fixing it, if you know what I mean.
