So i started my car up this morning after driving it all day yesterday with my new HRC stage 1 kit installed...i started to reverse and i felt a litte loss of power..pulled back into my spot and the check engine light came on...i checked the fuel rpessure guage under the hood and the needle was going nuts at around 50 psi...anyone every had this problem???

Lots of people have had this problem. I don't have a kit yet but you may be able to find some info running a search in the turbo section. I remember someone posted about talking to Corky Bell on how to PROPERLY setup the Cartech Regulator.

Do you have the billet CarTech FPR? When you say the needle was going nuts, you mean the fuel pressure was dropping and rising, correct? Was it only a few PSI or was it a serious amount (like 15-25 PSI)?

the needle was flickering back and forth very fast in between probably 45 and 55 psi..maybe a little more...i didnt have time to check into anything b/c i had to go find a ride to work...

sorry...im not sure what fpr it is...whatever comes with the HRC kits...its the fancy lookin silver one with a side scew and what not

The Cartech FPR makes the fuel press. gauge flutter all over the place. The car starts hating it when its fluttering 20psi or so. The cast(grey) one was horrible, the billet(shiny) one is still annoying, but only flutters about 5psi.

Un-kinking the fuel hoses wherever possible causes it to fluctuate less.

If you want it to stay steady, get a Vortech SFMU, its rock solid.

You shouldn't get a CEL from the FPR if it's idling somewhere around 47-55psi. Read the code to get a better idea of what's wrong. It may be that your O2 sensor just died or something.
