i just dont get it. i think i have the worst luck in the world. we have spent this whole week puttn my newly rebuilt engine back in. the engine is runin good but everything is is fucked up. or so it seems. first the oil return line was leakin. so i epoxied that and its kool. then the damn oil pan was leakin around the gasket and now its kool. now of course the bullshit never ends. now my rear main seal is leakin or so we think. its the only other place back there that oil could be drippin that hard out of. im gettin outta the military and we gotta be outta here by next week sop i dont have time for this bullshit. dammit. i just wanted this to go a little smoother. sory guys i just needed to get this out a little.i feel like im buggin but i got so much other shit to do so im gonna have to take it somewhere to get done now cuz all of our stuff is gettin picked up on tuesday and shipped back to PA. does anybody know off hand why the hell this would happen and how much this could cost.thanks for listening.

I understand your frustration. My rebuild didn't go as smooth either, but it's okay now. As for the leak ("possibly from the rear main seal"), was the block scraped off of any old sealant; was a sealant used to ensure a tight seal; and were the bolts torqued to spec? Another place that oil can easily leak out is at the oil pump. If someone forget to install the plastic ring (seal) on it, oil will definitely leak from there. Keep us posted man.

I thought all of those were leaking also.. but it turned out the grommet in one of the bolts to my valve cover was leaking oil and dripping down the back of the engine onto my exhaust pipe.. making a grip of smoke.
