I want to have a hobbs switch (fuel pressure safety) hooked into the fuel system of a turbo car. I will have an electric BOV (not the sound generator one!) in the intake tract. One that opens using a 12v source. If the fuel pressure drops below a certain point say 80psi, I will have the BOV open preventing boost and a lean fuel condition.
Do boost controllers have this feature?? Has this been done? This seems reasonable to me. Comments??

Never heard of any boost controllers with this. You would need some sort of manifold pressure switch too. Since you will be be under 80 psi of fuel while spooling and you wouldn't want the BOV open then. You would need a logic setup to only open the BOV IF the desired boost was reached AND the fuel pressure was too low. I suppose a manifold pressure switch, fuel pressure switch, and 2 relays would work. You may be able to find pressure switches at:

I wouldn't need logic or anything fancy, although I could use it. I would need a wot switch and a relay. When I am at WOT is the only time I am truley concerned about too low fuel pressure, right? I will just open up the BOV when at WOT if the pressure is below my setting. Do you think this is a proper safety system. IMO, it is pretty idiot proof.

Instead of doing that just get an EGT gauge. Unless you NEVER look at your gauges then your plan is a good idea but an EGT gauge will do the job add a AF ratio gauge and it'll be even better. EGT is handy on hillclimbs and stuff too, haha looks at me talking all this good stuff about EGT gauges and I'm barely gonna get it tommorow.
