#19169, "night at the track"

I got talked into taking out the car last night. Man I was a little disappointed. I ran 16.1 and 16.7 and both were tractionless 1st gears. My first run I had 1 sec reaction time (thanks Mr. Bud Light) I ran a .77 the second time. I actually ran a slower 1/4 with the faster reaction. If I could figure out how to get out of 1st and into 2nd gears with out trying to keep the car from melting tires it would have been a much better night. BTW it's Star I w/ "JCWhitney exhaust special", throttle body, wires plugs. The car ran great really just the driver could have been better! The Egt's got into the 1550 one time during a 3rd gear pull nearing 7000K. I hope some of you newer guys can use my experience to answer your "How fast will my car be w/ turbo?" Feel free to ask questions on this thread and maybe it will help when new people are searching.

Shit is all apart. Typical...

Where are you from?

I was at the track in NH last night and ran my Auto tranny HRC stage I, stock exhaust, 5 psi..

I only got 1 run in though, it was hella crowded and my girlfried was freezing her ass off..

Same deal, no traction through first and some odd stutter when it shifted from 2nd to 3rd,

10.7 1/8th
16.4 1/4 @ 86mph

I dont want to offend you guys but those times are horrible. I ran a 16.2 NA. I got a 14.3 last time i was out at the track. I think that if you lower your tire pressure down to around 24psi you should have better traction and a lot less tire spin. And your reaction time has nothing to do with your time or your mph. The clock doesnt start untill you start to roll. Work on those launches guys. Its crucial.

Yeah the trick is to start drinking AFTER you run. I live in Pittsburg, Kansas. and yes I do know that those times blow. It seemed like a lot of people were having problems that night. I had to line up with a dude in a Dodge PU w/ a 318 and then a 77 Ford PU with 6" lift and 33" mud swampers. He couldn't even stage. After that I called it a night and just back to having a good time with my fiance. Our track was packed.

Shit is all apart. Typical...
