Are they any pros and cons to this item? Anyone done this mod yet? Thought about doing it? Would we benifit from this, or just be a waste of time and money well spent on something else? My friend added on to his turboed Type-R becuz he said the oil temp was too hot or something he didn't want to chance it ruining his turbo. Any thoughts would be appreciated guys.

IT is a great Idea. the only con to it is worring about oil pressure. IF you use an accumulator, you shouldn't have a problem. I am using a greddy 13 row.

have fun!

What's an accumulator?

I have a perma-cool oil cooler on my turbo 420a. The most difficult one was finding a place to mount it cause I got one a bit too big.... emoji

an accumulator is kinda like a capacitor for yoru oil system. it holds in a certain amount of pressure, and when the oil system drops in pressure, it releases oil to build back up pressure. Moroso makes them.

Have fun!

Hmm what brand of oil coolers are there and how easy is it to install? I've seen a heatsink type thing you can put on you oil filter also, don't know where I could buy one though.

all oil coolers are going to be custom jobs. There are a few companies that make sandwich adapters to use an oil cooler with (like Flex-a-lite, b&M, and others). the heatsink cooler deal is made by Mopar Performance and can be bought from just about any good Daimler Chrysler dealer that carries Mopar.

have fun!

the oil is probably about 230 or so degrees F at most in a turbo car in the pan (I had an oil temp gauge on my car while it was N/A, and oil never got above 210). you water temp is at a bare MINIMUM 195 degrees. It will usu. be around 205 or so. that would put your oil at about 205 degrees AT BEST. I don't think that it is worth it. Air is about 70 degrees on a nice day. of course your oil will never see 70 degrees becuase of poor heat transfer, but it will be a good bit lower than 205. probably closer to 170 or so (est.) I consider that worth the money. Just my opinion.

have fun!
