I havent figured that one out yet either, i think my alpine alarm will allow me to auto arm, so i can have it arm after like 2 minutes, then the engine will shut off before that... check and see if your alarm can do that.. thats a easy fix..

i figured you could have it set to passive so that it'll arm by itself, but mine arms after 30 sec. i don't know if you can change that. also, what'd be nice is if you could remotely lock the doors, and then have it arm as soon as the tt went off. does anyone know about alarms that are made to work w/ tt's? i've heard that some are made to work w/ them, but i've never heard of anyone who uses one.

Ok, Here it goes guys,

If you have an aftermarket alarm, the wire coming from the alarm to the IGN1 underneath your steering column, must be taken out and spiced into your ACC wire. This will trick the car into seeing a voltage drop and letting your car run as is. It means that you will be able to arm you car after you step out, while the timer is couting down, and afterwards the door locks will not unlock themselves. Also if you have passive arming (auto arming), it will let you retain the feature if you forget to arm you alarm. Hope this helps. I got a lot of links on this if you guys want em. mostly on DSMTALK.com

when you say arm, do you mean only lock the doors, then arm after it is off? i would think that if the alarm is fully armed before the car is off, then the vibrations from the car shutting off or (depending on how sensitive the alarm is) even the vibration(exhaust, etc) from the car still running might set off the alarm.

yeah, it would set off the impact sensor if the engine was running while armed, you will have to ask an installer that is familiar with that brand if he knows how to set the auto arm stuff...
