Got some pics of the new lancer evo (the turbo edition, of course). Looked really nice. Couldnt get into the car or look under the hood, but from what I saw through the glass, it packed it all....gauges, awesome recaro seats (although they most likely will be replaced with cheaper seats), etc.

Got some other pics of the saleen S7 and new lambo, etc. I'll post some more when i get chance to resize 'em.

Oh yeah, who the heck would know that you cannot make a right hand turn in NYC streets when the road is painted in criss-cross marks? arghhh heh

i was there too. there were some really nice cars. evo 7 was the highlight thoug emoji got a ? though. how come they squeeze 275hp out of the 4g63 in the evo, but only 210 out of the turbo 'clipses. also, do u think mitsu will do anything about the crankwalk prob?

The EVOs do not have crankwalk. My cousin oversea has a EVO4 and EVO5. Both cars are well into their 70K miles, running on cheap Taiwan Petro. No problem with walking crank.

Boost pressure, size of turbo, piping, BOV, and Intercooler efficiency all contribute to the difference of power you see between the 4g63s. Not to mention the more efficient differential that is able to put the power down.

I wonder what we will end up getting over here in the states. I highly doubt we will get the full blown version...

When the Evo VII comes to the states it will most likely have figures similar to the Subaru WRX. The real WRX's overseas are running close to 275 hp.

I know that Subaru and Mitsu are having fierce comp out there against each other.

They had to drop the WRX's numbers because of emission regulations here.

Hopefully the Evo VII will run around 225-230 hp with close torque numbers using AWD.

I'm down either way... time is one my side...

well the EVO is like mitsubishis best car. It's much more refined than the eclipse is. It's like our cars but 10x more knowledge and techniques have been incorporated into it. I have a Best motoring movie that features the EVO6 and it's quite awesome, they talk about how it's better than the 5 like it has Dual Friction clutch, Pistons with better oil squirters, Titanium turbo, titanium engine parts, brembo brakes, brake cooling ducts, aerodynamics. The EVO has been created through years and years of mitsubishes research into rally.

The 4G63 in the Lancer is like a refined version of the one in the eclipse. It's got pistons with better oil squirters. Titanium turbo. Higher compression, more boost pressure, that monstrous FMIC, etc... EVO also sports a lot of technology in it like AYC which is the computer controls the pitch of the car. The 7 has on the fly electronic torque biasing. You can set it to snow, tarmac, or gravel. When the EVO7 comes out it's gonna be a whole new ball game. emoji

in the new sport compact, mitsubishi said the US version of the lancer will have "more than 250 rabid horses." and will cost less than 30 grand

the "real" wrx's ur talking about are the STi versions, and rumor is that subaru will be bringing the STi WRX over about the time Mitsu brings the EVO over.

Oh yeah I forgot only 2G 4G63 DSMs have crankwalk. Sux to be them but it's some design flaw that happened to those DSMs. 1Gs and LanEVOs are fine. Haha lets hope the EVO7 doesn't have crankwalk, that'd really taint Mitsu's image haha it's already pretty bad.

How does your friend over sees have Evo's w/ over 70K miles? I heard that once Japanese cars hit about 30K miles new motor are put in otherwise the cars are taxed big time for some reason. Something to do w/ emissions I believe. This is why we can get all those JDM engine straight from Japanese that almost always have 20-30K miles on them. We never know how hard the motor was ragged on when it was in its origional body.

i guess what i meant was not HOW do they make more hp out of the same engine because i understand how it can be done, but WHY didn't they do it w/ the eclipses. but i guess you all answered that one too, hehe. BTW, my friend was looking into buing a WRX and the dealer told him that the STi will be out the beginning of the year, w/ the full specs (280hp, better suspension....)

Actually guys...that crankwalk theory for the 2g Eclipse 4G63 might have been fixed...There have been No reports of 99' 4G63's with "crankwalk" ( knock on wood ) and it's been what...over three years now?? Well, that's what Road Race has told m emoji

And the reason why Mitsubishi didn't put that power into the Eclipse is cause they SUCK!!!!!

I use to have a White 99 GS Sport with a Star Stage II Ball Bearing T3/T4 turbo...it was fun untill....well those who remember me know emoji Oh Ya...this is what I have now... a 99' GSX...

I'm in. I've been waiting for the Evo to come to the US for years! I have already started working on my wife. I plan on making the purchase early next year. The reason I have to get my wife involved is that I want to keep my 2gnt and we would trade her car in on the evo. I'm all like, "It's got 4 doors." It's all wheel drive, so it'll be good in the winter." "I'll be making the payment." Yada yada yada... She's like: "If we get it you'll just make me park it away from everyone else, and I'll never get to drive it." My response: "So, what's your point?"

I went to the New York Auto Show too. And damn you beat me to posting the pics on the net for these guys. And yes the evo was beautiful in person. I took like a dozen pics of it. I went on monday and now I'm lazy to get the pics developed! Were you there when the guy opened up the Saleen S7 and the Lamborghini doors? I got lots of pics of that! One of my faviorte cars that was there and looking at it for the first time was the Aostin Martin V12 Vanquish. What a beauty. Did you like the way the Ford GT40 looked on display??? Sweeeeeeeet........

P.S I'll send these pics out soon.
