Well i think my problems are due to a bad dfi. Today i was going to take a nice drive on the freeway and put some miles on my new engine, but the car wouldnt turn over... I tried it a few times nothing, just cranking. Checked the msd, the light was blinking everytime i turned it over, so i knew it was sparking. Pulled the plugs, and they were dry as a bone. So i check all the dfi wiring, is all pluged in nice and tight, no blown fuses, everything looked fine, but not statring
So i pulled the injectors, and the fuel rail was full of fuel, so i know i'm getting fuel to the injectors,just no thru them. But since i've talked to a few ppl here i've had the suspesion that the dfi was not working right and not i think its gone out all together...

So then i put in the stock injectors and wiring harnes, and it cranked over. Didnt stay running, but thats due to the 1:1 fpr on the end of the rail letting out the extra fuel. So i know its eather the dfi or the injectors, and both came from hrc in the same order.

I'm planning on calling hrc tomorrow and returning the dfi, and or the injectors too, and have them replace them. But the only prob is i bought it off another guy here on the board (shant) but he never used it, and i have the orginal reciept for it. Do you think hrc will exchange it????

Or what else could it be????

If I rememebr correctly, the main power wire fo rthe injectors has a fuse. make sure that isn't blown. also if you have messed with the calmap software, make sur eit is configured correctly. also, when I got mine, one of the wires going to the injector harness was reversed with another (kept me from goin to the shootout in the venger last year). make sure all the wires going in and out of harnesses are the same color.

eit??? What's that? I have another DFI question. If you go into the view screen in Calmap, what does your TPS percentage say at closed and WOT? The book I have says to set the TPS to 0-.5%, and mine is a 4.9% closed. WOT is only like 79.1%. The reason I bring this up, is if my car stalls or dies it's almost impossible to re-start without changing the plugs. Flood-Clear mode doesn't seem to work, I can actually get gas to seep through the exhaust manifold if I crank it long enough. Flood-Clear mode is supposed to shut off the injectors when rpms are below 400 and the TPS is at 100%. But if the TPS only reads 79%....

eit means I can't type. sure-it not sur-eit. Turn down your cranking fuel. this will keep your car from flooding at startup.

I tried that. I had the cranking fuel down to 1.5 from 15.9 at the temp I was at (less than 50 degrees), and when cranking I could still see fuel vapor coming out of the cylinders (plugs out). It just doesn't seem to want to ever shut off the fuel. This is all with the throttle wide open.

yea i have checked all the fuses, on the dfi and the car. I also never got to use the calmap software, since hrc does'nt include the 4 pin adapter on the main harnes...

I called hrc tech today, and he was no help, told me to call accel, cause he had no idea about the dfi systems. And that he's sure its not the dif, blah blah balh....

So i called accel, they were cool, he told me to hook it all up, turn on the key (not start) and tap the white wire to a ground and see if the injectors pulse. If i hear them pulse the dif is "probably" good, and if not, its bad, Then i send it to them to be repaired.

Well i tested the dfi hoe i was told, and it failed
So i guess the dfi is bad... Time to send it to accel to get fixed, or hrc....

good thing I sped you up on the process or you'd still be scratchin' your head I've seen DFI's not work properly before... slap in a new one and hopefully you'll go zoom zoom If not, then you've really got a mess, hehe. Good luck, bro.

I'm up and running now, but just with stock fuel system. It rung perfect right now so it will probably take a few weeks to get my dfi aback, but by then i'll have a lot more miles on the car...

Got 47 right now...
