I just checked my compression on my newly built motor. The Motor has 2,000 miles on it.....I have 8.8:1 JE Pistons and Crower Rods.....My numbers are Cylinder #1--175 #2--185 #3--185 #4--185. How do my numbers look? Are they good? Is my 1st cylinder going bad? Just wanna be sure everything is ok before I turn up the boost! Thanks Guys!

how much did you pay for the rods pistons and the install??

$488 for 8 hours of labor and it was $1,350 for the New Pistons, Rods, Rings, and Bearings. That is $1,838 for the Bottom End being built.

Hmm how do you do a compression check on our engines? I don't know where to put the spark plug wire. I'm afraid sparks are going to go flying everywhere when I crank the engine.

Hmm those numbers do sound good to me. Normal compression for you average automobile is like 150.

Well, you cant actually say an "average" vehicle. All cars dont have the same compression ratio. For the 420a powered Eclipse the compression should check in between 170-200, depending on mileage and condition of the engine. Considering that Greg has substationally lowered his compression ratio, 185 is a very good number =o)

91 awd: 60-1, 880's, E-Prom, etc.
