How do i adjust the screw on the wastegate to get more psi? i adjusted the screw into the wastegate more to make the nut and the screw more flush,,,,the only thing i notice is more spool,,,is this is what is suppose to happen,,,,i want more thrust.. I believe my mark 2 wastegate is suppose to have 5lb. spring.? So i should do what on the wastegate to achieve full 5psi??? thanx for any help john....... by the way,,,,what is 3psi in guestimate?

the easiest way to get more boost off your westgate is to switch the vacuum line from the compressor to the intake manyfold. that way the wetgate will read the psi in the intake manyfold instead of the compressor wheel (by the time the air gets to the intake manny from the compressor it will have dropped about 1.5-2psi so a 7psi reading in the compressor is more like a 55.5-6 psi in the intake manny)
Did that make sense? well trust me it works!

That is not what that screw is there for. I don't care what anyone told you, that screw is not there to increase boost. That screw is there so you can adjust for boost creep - a situation you're never going to see because of the low boost we run.

Dino is correct. If you want to increase boost with only the wastegate, you need to change the spring inside. Forget that. Whodatt1 has a good idea and it will not matter how much of a pressure loss you have in your intercooler/piping. The wastegate will read the boost off the intake manifold and adjust accordingly. Do not forget to use a cap on the fitting on the compressor side to the turbo.
I suggest a boost controller. This will solve all your problems.
