Couldn't really find any info on a search about this, but does anything need to be done to strengthen the engine for a stage 2 turbo from stock? tia

Nope! Stage 1 and 2 are upgrades that can be done to a completely stock car. If going stage 2 then you should have a catback exhaust to get the best turbo response.
