well i was driving round town yesterday with a couple of my friends(we were all in our own cars) and when i would press the throttle bout 60-70% and let it rise to about 3500 give or take i would feel a sudeen boost. not the usuall boost at 3000 when flooring it but jes a sudden boost. does anybody know what this is?

well im assuming your car is turboed since this post is in teh turbo forum...so, the "boost" you feel at 3500 rpm is whats called "boost" to turbo kit owners. haha

c thats not what im talkin bout. i know what boost feels like. and yea under my mods is an hrc stg 2 so i am turbo'd. but this is whith out the pedal to the floor. and it doesnt feel like reg boost, its jes a suddin hit of boost when im not even trying to boost.

Turbos create boost at partial throttle too. That is how they work. Did you look at your boost gauge when you did this? I can hit full boost (15psi) at partial throttle in my talon.

well i wasnt looking at my boost guage cuz the vaccume line had jes broken. but it didnt feel like reg boost. it kinda felt like i got hit from the back. it was a SUDDEN thrust in the car at a stedy 60-70% throttle. well i guess from what yu guys have told me thats normal? cuz when i am boosting i feel it gradually kick in. when this happens its sudden boost. but ok whatever

Are you getting boost SURGE?

That kinda sounds like the ECU is suddenly deciding to either grant you a lot of timing, or leaning you out a lot all of a sudden.

Why? I have no idea. Something to do with the sensors or computer I bet.

yeah I was just going to say it might be your timing getting seriously advanced. Could just be a sweet spot in your fuel curve either that or a really lean condition. Can you get your car datalogged? That would tell you for sure.

I get that sometimes too. Dont worry about it.
