For those of you who missed my last post, I recently blew a rod in my 96 RS. Since a switch to a GST engine is virtually impossible, I'm thinking of putting a turbo kit on soon. What's the best place to order one from/what do you guys have? (Price is somewhat of an issue!) TIA

I don't know a whole lot about the turbo kits, but I did do some research on them. The two kits for our cars are the Star and Hahn Racecraft kits. I believe the Star stage 1 is about 1800 and the Hahn Racecraft stage 1 is around 2000. For more information go to www.turbogs.com or www.hahnracecraft.com. All the prices and components are listed.

You COULD put a GST engine but for the amount of time and money spent you could get a stage 3 and good engine work done, plus some dyno time for tuning and probably have some $$$ left over. Personally, i would get the Hahn Stage 1. Its relatively cheap and easily upgradable. Plus, Mr. Hahn has done all the R&D himself so he knows what he's talking about. He posts on here occassionally. And from what i hear he has good customer service. Yes, the hahn Stage 1 is about $2300 and you can upgrade to a Stage 2 from around &1000+/-. Before you buy anything, do a little research. Check out the Hahn website and wyatt's (Star turbos) website and check out the turbo section to see what all the guys go through and to know what you're getting into. The more you know, the more prepared you will be.

Get a rebuild kit and bullet proof your engine, then get a turbo kit from HRC or Star. Haha how many rods did you throw anyway? It's kind of a waste to replace only one rod/piston with a whole new set. Oh well, it'll be some tough stuff when you get the kit.

I just installed my HRC kit in my car over the course of 4 days. And I must say it completely transform the car. I think I'm in love all over again.. Not too hard for the install.
