With your 30lb injectors, and 8:1 disk, do you notice any rough idle or trouble starting? just wondering if the injectors were a load at idle. thanks man.

I have NGK BKR7E11 plugs gapped to .035 and it idles a bit rough when I initially start the car. I do not touch the gas pedal until egt reaches 800 degrees. Then the idle is almost as smooth as when I was still normally aspirated. I do not have any problems.

This is a good setup! I cannot speak for any other injectors besides the ones I am using. Buy Accel injectors and forget about factory mustang injectors. IMHO

Thanks for all your help Deano. ive decided to go with the Accel 36lb injectors, and a SAFC. probably run the 4:1 disk...see how that works out. by the way, i tried to email you the other day, but it sent it back and said your email was no longer an "active domain". i know sent it to the right email addy, cause i just replied to one you wrote me. ah well, just though id let ya know. thanks a lot man.

I know I promoted the Accel injectors because I use them without an AFC.

If I had a S-AFC, I would use a 42LB injector instead. I did not find any from summit(not listed). They may actually have them, because most of their parts are not actually on the site. Give them a call and tell them you want Accel 42LB High Impedence, Saturated bosch type injectors. See what they say!

I do see a 42LB ford racing injector listed for $440(8 injectors). Here is the part number FMS-M9593F302 If they have the same details as listed above, they should work(no guarantees). Dino is using 440cc injectors(I think RC engineering...not sure)without any problems. Might want to make a post and ask him which ones he is using. Or do a search back and see from his previous posts.

BTW: if you still are going to get the 36LB injectors, I would put in the 6:1 disc/ring and see how that works for ya. Dino says that a 4:1 is good for 42LB injectors. I am using 8:1 in 30LB injectors. See the flow.

Anything bigger than 30Lb (which is roughly 310cc) you MUST have an AFC or some means of fuel control. The stock computer can only adjust so much before it reachs it's limits (25%, +/-).

Well, i was going to order my 36lb injectors from Summit tonight, but when i called the guy said they only sell them in packs of 8, cause thats how Accel sends them to him. he said i would need the individual manufacturer # from Accel/Mr GasketCo. to be able to see if they could get them individually. he also said they dont sell the 30lb injectors individually, even after i told him i knew a person who had bought only 4 of them. called Jegs...and same story from them on both the 30lb and 36lb injectors. any ideas???

so DinoD how much boost do you run/ i'm going to be getting a star kit soon and i was wondering if with those injectors at the 36lbs (i think) with the 6:1 disk instead of the 12:1 would that be safe for 10psi fuel requirements? i figure from what you said that it should and then i wouldn't have to worry about the electronic woes that caused darkone to blow his #2.

Accel 30LB saturated high impedence injectors work just fine with our ecu. If you have a star kit with front mount intercooler and walbro 255 high flow pump, use a 8:1 ring/disc(take out 12:1 disc)in your vortech fmu. This is good for 7-10psi with a max egt of 1600 at high rpm.
Star stage 1 (without intercooler)use the 6:1 disc/ring.

I think with the cooler air(winter weather)caused by the intercooler, the density is much higher than without intercooler. This means more actual air at the same psi which means you need more fuel. You also have to run lower boost levels without intercooler(5-6psi)which means you do not need as much fuel.

BTW: if you live in the south, the summer time is damn hot and I would not recommend driving your car hard without an intercooler. You are very prone to detonation. Keep an eye on the egt for sure.
