What are you having problems with hook up? which rail do you have? Is the stock reg on the end of the rail? Do you know where your return line is? Do you know where to hook your vac line into? what exactly are you having problems with i will walk you through it.late mike

oh man this is going to be hard. I hope the car is up on jacks. You have the reg mounted in back. you can see the reg from under the car. Its really kinda hard to get to it from the back of the car. Mostly what I have seen done is that these guys cut the back end of the car up and run the regulator by the old one. The panel under your rear seat its the one closest to the passenger door. Take out the rear seta,take that plate off and see what you can. late mike

im still a little confused about the situation...on the directions that came with the kit it says all 95/96 models have the fpr in the engine bay...also...i dont know what the fpr looks like...and if the fpr is in the back where the F*$! would you mount the vortech??? i looked under the car the only thing i saw was kinda like a black cylinder on the passenger side of the car. Am i near the fpr??

that can is the fuel filter. If your sure the the reg isnt on the rail its in the rear. If you get down there and follow the hard lines from the tank they will go to a thing that resembles a T. You have a line from the tank,one to the front and one short one that is your return.

Your reg. is in front of your right rear tire just above your fuel filter. Look for mushroom type.

I replied to your msg dsmark...guess you didn't see it.

Stock:
->return line to tank
tank -> fpr/
\
->line to rail

Star setup:

-> route stock return line to vortech fmu
Tank -> stock fpr/
\
-line to rail

FMU is connected like this:

/<- return line from stock fpr
vacuum line->FMU
\-> return line to tank

1.Vortech FMU - Fuel Management Unit

The FMU provides additional fuel to the engine under boost. The FMU piggybacks the stock Fuel Pressure Regulator and relies
on the boost signal in order to operate.

a.Tee into vacuum hose leading into the Fuel Pressure Regulator
b.Remove Fuel Return Hose from Fuel Pressure regulator and plug into "OUT" barb connection on FMU.
c.Connect supplied ¼" hose from FMU to stock Fuel Pressure Regulator
d.Mount FMU near stock FPR.

I have pics of mounting here;

the hose that you can see going to the fpr in the third pic, is that the hose you connect to the bottom of the fmu?

I don't think so. There's several hoses in that picture, so I'm not sure which one you're talking about. I just looked at my post and the diagram I drew didn't turn out at all like it looked when I typed it, so I'll retry. The numbers under the FMU and FPR signify nothing except to say that there is more than one connection to that piece.

Stock:
tank -> FPR
FPR --
-----> 1. line to rail
-----> 2. return line to tank

Star setup:
tank -> FPR
FPR --
-----> 1. line to rail
-----> 2. return line to FMU

FMU:

1. line in from FPR
2. line out to tank return

I don't remember which port is in and which port is out on the vortech unit or I'd specify. I'd hate to give you incorrect info though based on a guess of what I remember. You should see "out" written on the FMU on one of the ports. This goes to the tank (as a return). The other is obviously the inlet. I think you can see which port gets the vacuum line from the engine in the pics.

Matt
