A check valve allows air/fluid to flow one way, but not the other. I'm not exactly sure what your talking about how its used to moniter boost fuel pressure, but you use one on the HRC (Cartech) regulator to bleed of boost pressure at the regulator in order to adjust the proper WOT fuel pressure. The reason you use a check valve instead of leaving the barb open to the atmosphere is because when the car is in vacuum, you would have a leak at that spot.

well by boost fuel pressure i was asking you if i needed that to adjust and or messure fuel pressure when boosting. and where the hell can i get a check valve?

You need that check valve on no matter what or you can't adjust your base fuel pressure because your car will not be in vacuum due to that leak. You can get the same check valve that HRC sends out with their kit at NAPA. If you are confused about setting the fuel pressure, read the my post under "Running Lean... what to do." The check valve is installed on the barb right under where that brass knob is on the regulator. When you put it on, make sure you connect the end of the valve that you can blow through to the hose on the regulator since it is supposed to bleed air, but not let air in. The other end of the check valve is left open atm. Hope that answers yer Q.

NAPA is an auto store here in Michigan... I thought is was nation wide... huh. Anyway, yea one of those 2 stores should have it. It is 1/2 black and 1/2 white. It comes in a little package like the vacuum tees do. I found it at NAPA on one of their accessories shelves. I believe it is a GM part, but its been awhile so don't quote me on it unless I'm right

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you get away without using the check valve on the Cartech FPR if you have the brass needle valve all the way closed?
Anyways, if you can't find a checkvalve anywhere else, the ones made for fishtank airpumps would work in this application... $.99 at petco. And, yes we also have Napa autoparts in California.

well im order to set my boost fuel pressure i have to turn that brass one. if it doesnt have check valve then itl suck air in and ill have a vac leak. right? arent you the pne who told me this? it makes perfect sense cuz it sux in air when i adjust it cuz i can feel it and when i adjust it i see the idle pressure rise so im pretty sure that boost fuel pressure will rise also.

technically it would work if you closed the valve all the way, but then he would be running ~ 105psi of fuel pressure with only 5lb. of boost. Thats gonna give him worse gas milage, less power and possible even higher egt's if all that fuel isnt combusting in the cylinders. I'd say the $1.50 is worth the more accurate tune job.
