#17463, "changing axles"

First off, I know this isnt about turbos, but since you guys are the only ones snapping axles I feel that this is the best place to ask. My driver side axle boot is ripped to shit and I need to replace my axle. Is this something I could do myself or should I have it done professionaly?? Ive been quoted 60 bucks to get it replaced, which doesnt seem too bad to me. What do you guys think.

This isnt all that hard to do. You will need a compressor, The axle nut is torqued to around 240lbs. And trust me no matter how hard you try you cant get it off by hand. You said 60$ This is hard to believe but it is way affordable. This qoute you got sounds like it does not include parts and fluid. If it does get all over it. I know a replacement axle is around 45$. Good luck man and if you do it yourself I'll walk ya through it. If you can try to go with redline mtl 90wieght late mike
