I have Accel 30# injectors, T3/T04E and vortech fmu. After I installed my starion front mount with 2 inch mandrel piping, my egts would climb to over 1650 at 7000 rpm in 3rd gear(7psi). I could not do a high rpm 4th gear pull because the egt would climb even more if I did not back off the throttle. This is with a 6:1 fmu ring/disc. The plugs(bkr7e11 gapped at .035) were changed before the track day and they were good. Not rich and not lean....just a good burn.
When it was stage 1(no intercooler)my egt would only get to 1600 and stay there(6psi)on that fuel setup.
When I mixed 4 gallons of C116 leaded race gas with 10 gallons of exxon 93 pump gas, my egt's would not go over 1620 redlining 3rd and 4th gears at the race track. This was boosting 10psi. I know that on straight pump gas, my egt would of went past 1700.
I swapped in the 8:1 fmu ring/disc and now my egt is 1580 redline in 3rd gear(hard pull up hill)and barely go to 1600, redline in 4th(7psi). It actually feels a bit stronger on its pulls.
I have not tried it at 10psi, but it might get to 1620 redline in 3rd on pump gas. That is my guess. I only boost 7 psi for street driving and autocross events and always plan on throwing in a little race gas for 10psi street racing/track events. Remember I still have the stock bottom end
BTW: the temps have been in the 50's and 60's and near sea level. Just thought I would share my findings.

Sorry I can't be of much help, but I do know that pushing 1600 degrees Fahrenheit is the limit. You are very close to the edge, I would keep it under 1550 if possible to be safe.

I had always figured the 6:1 wouldn't be quite enough with 30lb injectors, just like my 3:1 isn't quite enough with my 440's... But my AFC can make up for that until i start cranking out 15-18PSI.

so Deano, would you not recommend running 10psi with the 30lb injectors and 6:1 disk now? my engine will be built with 8.5:1 compression, but high EGT's is still unsafe no matter what. if the 30lb wouldnt do, what size accel injector should i get and what FMU disk would be best to use with it? if i have to get a SAFC then so be it. thanks.

If you already have 30lb injectors, the 8:1 should be OK for 10 psi. But no more than that. Just watch your egt! more than 1600 is tough on the motor. I have hit 1650 in the past a couple times(5 seconds). I just worry about my pistons/rods at 10psi on a stock motor. I do feel better with a mix of race gas. It keeps me from detonating and lowers the egt. Then it is back to 7 psi for safety. Believe me, I would love to turn the set screw on my TurboXS HPBC.
If you do not have the injectors in you hands and you still have to order them, If it were me and I had a built bottom end, I would get at least 440 injectors and use the 4:1 disc/ring.
Someone here is using 550 injectors with a S-AFC and it works. This would be a much better setup. I am not sure if they have the SFMU, probably so, because you would have to lower your idle pressure to probably around 30 psi fuel to keep it running.
Maybe you could post a question to the person that is running that fuel system and get the exact details.
When I do rebuild my spare motor, I may just go standalone as well. The AEM and TECII look appealing. The cost of the TECII should really come down when the TECIII hits the market. Just some thoughts. I have access to a mustang dyno and can tune the car for real world driving conditions. I also have a couple of friends who drag race and run the TECII(1G cars) and they can teach me everything.
I do really like the idea of AEM plug and play though. It is suppose to learn the car and basically tune itself. I am sure there is more to it, but wholesale pricing might be close to SFMU/S-AFC/MSD dis2 with all the adapters etc to control timing. See where I am going with this? hope so
I just take it one step at a time and am having fun at every level. My backup motor makes me feel safe, because one complete day in the shop and I am back on the street.
