#16948, "Turbo is in, need help asap please!?"

Ok, after waiting since last thursday, the shop finally finished installed my stage I HRC. They didnt install my boost gauge, they said HRC didnt ship them the pod.. hmm.. so I'll call HRC and see if theyll ship a new one.

They said the car would be fine to drive until this weekend when they put in the gauge and install my MBC. So, I paid, and left. It sounded good, I could hear the fuel pump, my bov sounded nice, and then I came to a stoplight, and pulled up next to my g/f in a 2000 neon. well, I floored it, the car bogged down, and she passed me. I tried a few more times and the car is slower than its ever been, so I took it back. They popped the hood and the little tube behind the valve cover didnt have a hose connected to it, and the guy said that was the problem. Is that possible?? Could that be the cause?

I'm worried these guys know as much about installing a turbo as I do.. which isnt very comforting, though HRC was the one who recommended the shop..

Can anyone let me know if that could cause a major loss in performance, i.e. worse than stock? Thanks guys, I'm supposed to pick it up again tonight..

you could have an air leak check all your vacuum lines and pipping for any air leaks.
I don't really know what you mean about the little tube behind the valve cover? do you mean the little breather tube that's on top of the valve cover? if so all you would need there is a little breather or a hose conecting it to an oil catch can.

hope that helps.

Late.

If you're talking about your PCV valve, then yes, that could be your problem. That'd a big hose on a big hole, and would make a huge vacuum leak,

Fix it, and then try again emoji

im surprised a shop that was recommended by HRC told you it was okay to drive it without teh boost gauge. i mean, maybe they were confident in the install, but they should have told you not to drive it hard or boost it at all, because you wouldnt know if you were overboosting and then you would want to blame them for letting you drive it without the gauge

yeah, I realized that after I took it back.. I called HRC and they said to fax them the list of blunders this shop made.. hell they were watchng playboy house parties on a laptop in the store, and they couldnt even find my battery bracket..

oh, and I beleive its just the breather that they blamed for the problem on the right side of the engine that a hose runs from there to the intake when I was n/a .. thats what he said caused the problem.. i dunno..

HAHAHAHA they said the breather caused the problem!??
man I suggest you get your car out of there before they really brake it!

either take it to a real mechanic or just go over the install your self again and check for messups. (we will help you) emoji
