#16868, "Who's had an oil leak?"

my car is still leaking oil as i had to drive it nervously to work and back and then to autozone and back with the dipstick completely dry...so i got a case of 12 regular mobil 10W30's to put in her until i can find the leak (i cant afford $50 in synthetic every 2 months anymore until i fix this) so i check under the car and ive got 2 leaks, one major and one not so major. so im just checking with you guys to see who else has had problems with it and where your leaks were located. my big leak is dripping from the center of the big black undercarraige bar, i cant remember the name now, but its the biggest bar under the car, teh one that got in your way when you installed the oil sensor tee and when you loosened the drivers side of the oil pan. so if its dripping off this bar, where is the oil leaking from, the tee itself? damn i dont want to go through tightening that thing again. any ideas?

if it is coming from that general area, behind the block , above the center cross member...(is that what it is called?) i'll bet that it can be

1. your Oil sensor tee (did you use teflon paste?)
2. your head gasket (I hope not)
3. your oil pan (maybe you didn't seal it correctly.)
3. your valve cover gasket (easy fix)

Otherwise ask Dino. Hope this helps out. You might need to crawl down there to take a looksee.

Well with my ..........."stage whatever kit cause like an ass, i built my kit myself in my backyard" ........ I just solved my oil leak problem, it was coming from the "t" on the back of the block that connects to the sensor, I've been turboed for about a year now and because of the way I run her, I guess it just started working it's way loose. Get under your car, if you have any friends that has lifts and look behind your block, Originally I thought it was my headgasket but after looking at the head above the block, it was bone dry soooo..take that as you will

i just had to have satan replace my HG(under warranty), and it was leaking from two spots also. the big spot was in the center, like you said, and a smaller one was around the alternator area(on the ground anyway). BTW i'm not turbo...yet. satan said it was leaking from my HG and valve cover. personally when i looked at it, it looked like it was also leaking from the crank sensor(would explain the spot on the left side of engine bay). anyway, it looks great now. if your car's still under warranty take it to them, if not, call the complaint center and open a case. hope this helps a lil.

The two main culprits tend to be the T on the back of the block, and the fitting on the oil pan.

The T is cake to get to if you drop your downpipe and centermember.
