If you got a Voltage clamp and you bought the VC-2 I would use the VC-2. I've heard about some guys getting a CEL with the VC-2. I would trust it more since it's a "hard clamp". I do have a little black box that came with my Star kit and it's kinda glitchy. I'm looking into the VC-2 soon.

Shit is all apart. Typical...

They are slightly different. the one that came w/ your kit is a soft clamp. the vc-2 is a hard clamp. They do serve the same function though if that's what you're asking.

i imagine it wires in the exact same way as a VC2, inline with the MAP sensor, with a 12+ and ground.

The MAP is the yellow wire with the black stripe in the ECU harness. Power is the fat black wire with a grey/white stripe, ground is a chassis bolt. If you can at least determine which is the "in"(from the MAP sensor) for the VC2 and which is the "out"(to the ECU) - you're golden.
