#16547, "inconsistent psi ?"

I have an hrc stage 1 kit. sometimes i have as low as 3 psi, and sometimes i have as high as 7 psi. The weather has been very random. Sometimes low 20's, sometimes its in the 70's. Might i assume that its based on the weather? A couple times i hit 7psi (not intercooled, and yes i know) It was very cold but it didn't spike and go back down. It went up to 7 and stayed. It was actually still climbing a tad bit. Is something wrong with my system? Why is it so inconsistent. I thought the actuator was set at 5psi.

for the most part, pretty much the same. i can go up to about 6800 rpms @ 5 psi and still be a touch over 1500. And the same with 3psi (not much difference, maybe a little less) When i get 7psi, i haven't gone past 6500 b/c of me getting to close to 1600.

when i was stage 1, i had really high boost. i was running no exhaust tho emoji boost would creep all the way to 8-9lbs in the top of second. put the stock exhaust back on, and rarely saw the better side of 3 lbs emoji

is your varying boost consistent with the weather? like, u always hit 6-7+ when its cold, but on warm days you only see 3-4?

As long as you dont go over on the egt's you are OK. When I first put on my turbo kit I had a stage 1. I had to drive from miami to orlando right afte we finished installing it. I was hitting 8 psi on a stage 1. It was really fast but I had to let off the gas as soon as I saw the egt's go up to about 1550. Your egt's are the key. Just watch them and you should be OK. Why dont you upgrade to stage 2 with a starion FMIC. The whole thing can be done for under $400 including welding costs and piping cost and the FMIC.
