I'm having a boat load of smoke coming out of my breather, oil dipstick pipe when I take it out and out of my oil cap when I take it off. Along with that I have oil spraying out of the breather when I hit boost. Other than that, the car seems to run perfectly normal. I drive it to work and back without losing oil as long as I dont let it 1psi. There is a very slight miss at idle though. But the rpms stay at the normal range and doesnt bounce around. Everything other than the problems I listed seem normal. Even in boost it runs perfect. Nothing performance wise has changed. In the previous thread everyone mentioned cracked pistons. Now if I had cracked pistons, would the car run normal without going into boost?? I really would like to know, cause Im about to part the car out and sell it once I figure out how much money Im going to have to spend to get this fixed. A '97 to'99 GSX is in my sights right now. But I will still be on the board with you folks! emoji

Compression test ..

I drove mine for a week with a cracked piston before it got bad enough for me to notice (besides the fact it sprayed oil everywhere under my hood). AT 90+MPH, fifth gear pull sent it ove the edge and down to 60PSI of compression. It had an audible miss at idle, and the power output would drop waaay out once i hit third gear in boost. Started to smoke a little, too.

Sound terrifyingly similar?

Yeah actually it does sound familiar. Well, I guess it is a cracked piston. Well, there goes my car. This all started to happen at the track on Sunday too. I was so pissed that I couldnt get a good 60ft, I had already decided to sell the car before I discovered the problem. I hate FWD. Damn, I cant believe 5psi can do that. Ive been boosting for almost a year now. Non-intercooled though, I guess thats was a factor of the problem. Well, Star Stage 1 up for sale soon, along with Eibach Sportline 1.8 inch springs, Hayame EXT muffler and AEM Cam gears! Any additional information will be appreciated concerning my problem. Thanks for the info Darkone. emoji
