#1625, "HRC stage 2 coming soon"

well, i ordered my JE pistons/Crower rods today... ill have to wait close to 2 or 3 months befoe i get the HRC kit... i cant wait! im gonna get the Stage 2 with the FMIC. im gonna get a boost controller and boost around 9psi for daily driving, probably up to 15psi or so at the track on pump gas. im getting 440cc injectors and a S-AFC also. anything you guys can think of that i will need other than this? what brand injectors should i get and from where? also,on the clutch note...ive heard so many different suggestions, but i wont have 500 or 600 bucks to spend on a clutch, whats the best one for the money? i never street race, so im pretty easy on the clutch. also, thanks to everyone on the board who has provided me with such useful information, i cant say thanks enough. this board is GREAT! emoji

to boost 9psi dailey and 15 at the track you will have to reset your SAFC everytime. I think you should set it up on 15 psi and cruz town easy then fill up on race gas at 17-19psi, so as to not reset everything.

Skrilla, I was jus twondering why you would have to re-set it everytime?? So you figure, ou can boost 7-9 psi, without the S-AFC, and lets say you switch to high boost on your Profec B(for me at least) wouldn't then the S-AFC compesate for the higher boost levels at whatever setting you had it at?? Kinda confused, cause this is what I will be doing....I aready have my 440's and AFC, just waiting for my LOST PISTONS, RODS, SEALS, AND PINS, THAT UPS GAVE AWAY...LAST WEEK!!!ok, sorry....

With the Profec B it just sets boost and as you know the AFC would have to be set for the correct amount of fuel. Now with that in mind there are two ways to control fuel. Big fuel and small fuel control. The big fuel is the adjustable/boost dependant FMU, high flow pump and injectors. With just those things you could run a clean setup. The AFC would then richen or lean parts of the rpm band(nothing new to your knowledge). After all that the AFC would be based on that particular boost, say 10, that you tuned it too. Once you up the boost to 14 or so then your FMU/FPR could compensate but the small fuel control would now be "off" it's proper tuning and based on 10PSI instead of 14psi. At differnt pressure the turbo has a differnt power curve and effect on the engine. So the only real way to make it universal would be to run just a hair rich and on an average of the two (you wouldn't go lean because of the big fuel control). In this way the AFC would be used to prevent lean burn that would affect 14psi but not 10psi. Either way the AFC would only be *perfect* at 1 set boost or 2 differnt types of gas OR running slightly rich(I think this is how Wyatt is doing it or will do it). I will probably run my AFC to prevent lean burn and larger injectors and slightly rich all the time with 10psi ran daily then up it to 14+ when an F-Body or Porchse(or maybe Viper) approache emoji
