right now i got the autometer pryometer egt, i was planning on going to the greddy peak hold later, but do i have to switch the egt sensor on the manifold which is the pryomoter? or could i just remove the pryomoter gauge except the sensor and wire up the greddy egt peak hold gauge to the pryomoter egt sensor? i never have seen a greddy peak hold egt yet so i dunno... thanks Michael 99gs- hrc stage 2

I would call GReddy and ask them about probe compatibility or at least how many wires comes of their probe as opposed to the one you are proposing to use.
If I were a betting man, I would predict that the probe would not serve any function in contributing to the peak/hold operation. Remember, standard probes only have two wires coming from them.

I don't think you can buy a Greddy gauge without buying everything that comes with it. It's one of the reasons they come with such a high price tag. All the greddy egts I've looked at come with the probe. Since it's all an ntp fitting you should have no problem just removing your pyrometer and putting in the greddy probe.

Why would you have to remove the manifold to install the probe?
