I have the money to go turbo. BUT!!!! I have 95,000 miles on my car... ouch. I am not sure if it is a good idea to put a turbo on it with all those miles. I know I could rebuild it, but I can not be without my car for that long. I know that I could buy a new block and rebuild it on the side, but that is more $$$. I am thinking about getting a stage 2 turbo kit by the way. So, the big question is, if your car had 95K on it, would you put a turbo kit on it? Thanks for the help guys.

Why not?
I turbo'd at 80 something thousand.. It was close to 90. There's no point in rebuilding before turbo, just do a compression test. If it looks okay, turbocharge it. If something breaks, THEN rebuild it.

Let's put it this way, I can not be without my car for a month while my "broke" engine is being rebuilt. If I pay for a new motor and pay my local "performance" shop to rebuild it and put the turbo on and everything, then take my car in to swap it out, a day or two max, I can deal with that down time. I just don't think I would be able to survive without my car. I will start with a compression test though. When I get the results can I email them to you Dino for analysis?

My car is my only transportation too. I turboed mine at about 72,000. Now I have 87,000 and its still running strong at 8psi. Our engines are very tough. they handle boost pressure very well. The compression test is very easy to do and it is the answer to your question. Post your results here so we all can see.

I turbo'd mine at about 80000 and now its close to 90000 and runs perfect at 8 psi. Just make sure that you have good compression (obviously) and buy the gauges and tune it properly. If you spend the time paying attention to the details you shouldn't have any problems that wouldn't have occured without the turbo.

turbo'ed mine at 66K and now my car took a big shit on me at 68K... dont raise boost to high and get a good boost controller unlike mine which probably fucked my car up. My car is also daily driver so I dunno how I have time to get a rebuild. -Dave
