Joe is running 18PSI on a stock tranny with no problems.

HEAT kills auto trannies, not just torque.

definitely get a tranny cooler and gauge, i just got my car back from the shop from 2 burnt clutches, and the repair was $1200. i'm hurting right now but it's ok, they upgraded my tranny so i know i'll get better shifting. the reason this happened cause i was racing for hours straight, and did not give my tranny enough time to cool down so it gave out. and i didn't have a tranny cooler nor a gauge to monitor, so that cost me big time. i learned my lesson. i'm also getting an oil cooler.

Sounds like you need a PTS kit.. for that money you could have had a tranny swap.
