#15287, "need info on tuning with larger injectors and afc"
Hello all! well I put 30# injectors in, i have an afc, i'm leaned out with the afc, i built a fooling the afc unit and my low is set at static and my hi is set just above 9 psi. i have done some tuning with the Road race method that makes sense. BUT! i noticed that if i push my throttle down 1/2 to 3/4 the way i get great acceleration, but if i floor it my acceleration is less than impressive. I assume that i am running too rich at wot which would explain the bogginess, my A/F is still rather rich at wot, what voltages should i be targeting at full throttle from my o2 sensor, and i am leaned in the 20% range at 9 psi, it ranges from 21 to 15 percent from low to high rpm. another thing that i was wondering is that say my low is set at 43% and my high is at 85% i understand that anything below 43% will take on the adjustments of the LOW setting and anything above 85% will take on the adjustments of the HI setting. but what about inbetween LOW and HI. does the AFC interpolate these values or what? thanks james

I'll tell you exactly what this is. At 1/2 to 3/4 throttle, the ECU is controlling the fuel. It is reading the O2 sensor and pretty much ignoring the S-AFC. It will run fine here, albiet a bit hot for emissions reasons. This is called closed loop. Press the pedal down further and it goes into open loop. It forgets about the O2 sensor and just listens to the MAP, ECT, TPS, whatever. This is the oportunity to use the S-AFC. You should continue to lean until it runs well even at WOT.
