I have the bell FPR and it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! I have the little gold knob that controls the fuel presure under boost turned all the way clockwise!!! I cant adjust it anymore. I was running lean today at full boost. My egt's werent going crazy but I was lean according to the blinky light gauge. I think I am going to take off that damn BC. I have a feeling if I keep it on there I am going to blow something up. Does anyone know anything about the FPR's that used to come with the hrc kit?

Do a search. There has been a LOT of talk about the hrc fpr. I don't think a single person is happy w/ thiers. Basically you need to get a Vortech s-fmu. They are pricey but worth it.

I think I am going to get the vortech FMU not the s-fmu. I think the FMU is like $150 right. And I am supposed to use the 12:1 disk right?

hey, if you want a FMU, I got a 12:1 Vortech sitting in my room. I already removed the AN fittings so all you need is to screw in a 1/8NPT fitting. Let you have it for 85$. you cover shipping. Its never been used before.
Hit me up. thanx.

The 12:1 should be way too high. Remember that you need 105-110 psi for 9 psi boost and 80-90 psi for 6 psi boost. When you start out with a static pressure (0 boost) of 55-60 psi, you'll need something in the 3.4:1 to 6.2:1 range. One problem is that the disks don't really adjust fuel pressure like you think they should. A 6:1 likely won't boost fuel pressure 6 psi for every 1 psi of fuel pressure. You'd probably want to get the FMU and the assorted calib kit (lots of disks). You sort of work your way down until you find a good one. Tommyboy is working through this, you might ask him.

I thought the star kits come with the 12:1 disk in the fmu. and they seem to work fine on the kits.

So i guess it would be better to get the s-fmu then because it is adjustable right? How much are the s-fmu's?

The S-FMU's run about $260-290 depending where you buy it from. Apparently, I paid too much for mine at SummitRacing ($275...they price matched).

I'm not quite sure why the STAR has such a high raio disk, but I can tell you, theirs will be higher than HRC's disk b/c the turbo produces more HP per psi of boost. I have the 7-8:1 disk that came with the Votech S-FMU and it runs fine. As a matter of fact, I'm running a tad rich.

As far as your Bell FPR Dave, the problems you are having are EXACTLY the ones I had. It simply would not adjust anymore.

You can buy a calibration set from 4:1 to 12:1 from Vortech for about $40, still cheaper than a full SFMU. You should start high and go down like suggested. Drag kits use 12:1 too. I guess better too much then too little. I would start at `10:1 and go no lower than 8:1.

I'd call up HRC and see what they ahve to say, they say their product is supposed to work safely up to 10psi with what they give you... well its not. so give Bill a call i am sure he'll help you out,he has in the past.

Whats weird is that yeasterday I was running lean so I messed with the screw. I screwed it all the way in and then I screwed it almost all the way out. Now my car is running rich. This thing is soo inconsistent. Its driving me crazy!!
