#1470, "HKS STD BOV"

How does this BOV connect? On this BOV, there is a nipple for a vacuum tube...where do I hook this into?

I have it hooked into the intake manifold...is that right?

I had to temporarily disconnect it because one of my plastic tees melted. emoji I thought with that line disconnected, I wouldn't hear the BOV. But much to my surprise, I still hear the BOV when I let off the pedal (when boost reads 0+psi) !! So what's the line for then if BOV still goes off???

You have it right. BOV into intake manifold. Are you sure it is the bov you are hearing? What kit do you have? If it is the star, it could be your wastegate no?

Even without that line connected, the air has to go SOMEWHERE when you let off the gas. The BOV is the easiest route to go, all it has to do is flex a diaphram. With the vacuum line connected, the boost on one side that the vacuum on the other pull/push the diaphram and open the vavle. With the line disconnected, with that pressure having nowhere to go, it just blows the vavle open and makes that loud, high pitched "SKITTTTTTTTTTTTTER" noise you hear. Probabl;y not the best thing for the BOV, but it'll work regardless.

Incidentally, that is also how the "DeltaGate" feature on out wastegates works. With boost on one side on the diaphram and vacuum on the other, it will push/pull the diaphram open and vent exhaust gas as to not overboost or overwork the turbo. Not nescessarily an advantage in our application as loads that would cause that situation are non-existant, which is why nobody i know of is running in DeltaGate mode, i guess. Hope this helps.

I tried running my wastegate in deltagate mode...I plumbed the intake manifold to thevacuum port...started up the car

and the wastegate immediately opened spewing forth exhaust fumes into my garage =(

I quickly turned off the car and got rid of the vacuum line...
