Well i havnt been on here for awhile..but the last time i was..i was talking about how i couldnt shift into 4th or 5th gear..well i finally got it down to the shop (been hella busy with school) and they dropped the tranny...and called me to come down..they said it was the most "destroyed tranny" they have ever seen. not to mention my 6 puck clutch (1500 miles) is already shot....This is ridiculas...24K miles on the car...3000 of which are turbo..and 1500 miles are w/ the stage V fuel setup..I guess our cars really werent meant for turbos after all..its like one thing just keeps breaking after another..first the engine blew, then it got broken into, then hahn sent a faulty dfi box (which we never expected..so i spent 2 months looking at everything else in the car..assuming the dfi box would have been fine from the factory), now the damn tranny...sorry guess..i guess im just venting

If it makes you feel better I bet your tranny was not worse off then mine. I have 90k on my car. I doubt anyone drove it more than me turbo and beat the hell out of it. I am happy with the way it is going. What is actually wrong with your tranny?

make "absolutely sure" you use the right oil in it. the transmission itself is not weak. failure usu. comes from worn bearings from trash in the oil or the wrong oil itself.

man i need to start taking more pics. About 3 yrs ago my tranny split on me. The pin that hold your differential inplace slipped out on mine. This led to half the tranny fanning off. It was kinda like a can opener. So i went and found one for like 700$ and had the diff pin welded in place. Might want to think about doing that if your gonna run boost. late mike

From what i understand, that is a common problem when one wheel is spinning faster than the other, like in a turn. I know it has happened to Stan before.. didn't you do a lot of autox, Mike? In mostly straight line situations, i've never heard of that pin backing out.

yeah dino i did a shitload of auto xing but this happened before i started doing all that. I was shifting from 1st to 2nd and BLAM it felt like i ran over a pothole. But I was only going around 15mph. late mike

It never hurts to weld it in, but it's not the leading cause of tranny failure

damn mark, sorry to see your still having troubles. just get a new tranny and throw in there with a clutchmasters stage 4 clutch, thats what i'm doing, but my tranny is fine so i dont have to work on the gears or anything, and get the lightened flywheel. I am gonna drop my tranny in a week or 2, if you get the new tranny and want me to put it in with a new clutch, just bring the car over and we'll roll it in my garage and do it one day. take it easy. --brad

Uhhh.. NO. That's WAY too heavy.
Our manual earbox oil is more like 30w oil! DON'T put that in your car.

You guys are in Indiana, right? I'm right outside of Cincinnati so I guess I'm probably no more than a 3 or 4 hour drive away. No shipping... I also have 3 used stock clutches now if that helps any. Let me know if I can help out.

About your original engine blowing. You make it sound as if it was the engines fault. Like it couldnt take it, not meant for boost. If I remember correctly, you were running like 10psi on a Star kit for a month with absolutely NO gauges in the car other than a boost gauge. Right? Remember that human error is the biggest cause in failure, as someone stated about the transmission oil.
91 awd: 60-1, 880's, E-Prom, etc. 93 awd: JDM 6 bolt, K&N, full exhaust, Wally 255, otherwise stock.

ya i know the blown engine was my fault...its just frustrating when ive put more money into the car than i what i paid for it new back in 99...anyways...cinncy is only like a hour and 30 min away..we are right outside of Louisville, Ky...So whats the absolute best clutch I can get guys? I need one to hold all that boost..i dont really care about driveablity, considering its not my only car anymore..so I dont have to depend on it for my daily transportation. And speaking of which brad...is it possible to bolt a 6 speed up? like perhaps a vr-4 tranny or the 6 speed miata tranny?

I dont believe that would work. As said before, the actual transmission itself wont/shouldnt have a problem holding the power. I found out the hard way that the diff is the weak link. Mine exploded and shot through the bottom of the transmission case out onto the race track Since youre capable of making some serious power, I recommend getting a Quaife diff., and the Clutchmasters Stage IV setup. Greg just ran a 12.8 on his Stage 4 clutch. I myself have one in my car. Get a new transmission, put in the LSD and the clutch, and be good to it. It should last you a long time. Also, use the factory spec transmission fluid. Its that Mopar performance crap. Expensive

I have 3 transmissions. #1 - Diff busted, took out the output shaft and bearings. #2 - Replaced #1, but still totally stock. #3 - Out of Guy's car. Has the Quaife in it.
Either #3 is going in my car, or I will take the lsd out of #3 and put in in #2 and put #2 back in my car. Not sure yet. I wish one of them was a 6-speed tho.
