#14045, "Question on The U/D pulley w/ turbo..."

Ok...i have a unorthudux racing pulley that i'm selling, the reason i'm selling it is because i had several experienced mechanics that know that if you install a U/D pulley w/ a turbo setup that you won't feel a significant difference. i was like like bummed for buying it 'cause i thought since the pulley is lighter that i will free up more HP due to that it's lighter. so i'm like forget it, i'll sell it and do another upgrade with the engine. anyway, before i sell it...who here has had this installed AFTER a turbo setup and noticed a difference...maybe you could change my mind.

1. it's not going to HURT anything, for sure.

2. It's a lighter, smaller pulley. It DOES free up horsepower, no matter WHAT else is ont he car.

3. Your mechanic is an idiot. emoji

Isnt it along the same lines as a lightened crank or a lightened flywheel? The less weight those rotating parts have, the less power it takes to turn them?

Unorthodox 2nd Gen Ultra-Series Pulley
Don't be fooled by the imitators! Unorthodox Racing has many years of extensive research and development to ensure a high quality and durable product. Weighing in at only 1.88 lbs (12 oz lighter than it's predecessor), this 2nd generation pulley is not only superior in quality, but has a unique design allowing for ease of installation and removal with any 3-leg gear puller. Unorthodox Racing Ultra Light Series lightened under-drive pulleys are CNC-machined from lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum. Premium 6061-T6 aluminum billet ensures the consistency of the material's strength and balance. Tolerances are held to within .001", and numerous machining steps are taken to ensure they are the lightest possible design. In addition to fit, finish is just as important and each piece is representative of this. UR pulleys can provide 5-12 HP gains on normally aspirated engines and 8-16 HP on forced induction engines. Gains as high as 37 HP have been realized on modified forced induction engines! Ultra series pulleys are available in black, clear, red and blue anodizing. The Ultra Race pulley for the Neon is now available and provides quick changing of the outer ring for easy switching at the track.
A must for any weekend racer!
Both single belt race or combination pulleys are available. $211 Click here for Dyno results http://www.cnnpracing.com/ultra_s_r_dyno.htm

Note: Ford cars and drivers do not like the laws of physics. If it weren't for physics, they would be able to turn and stop. Unfortunately, the Ford designers didn't forsee this.
