Ok I was talking to a friend of mine that just got the star stage 2 and it came with some instructions for the MAP bypass. The question i have is where exactly are you suppose to install it. I never got instructions to it and only got a diagram so i just hooked it up to my PCM(ecu). His instructions told him to hook it up to the map sensor on the intake manifold. would it make any difference. My car runs fine but now i'm thinking that it's not setup correctly which could explain some things....please let me know or just tell me its ok cause im paranoid now...oh yeah had the turbo kit in for about 6 months now and really haven't had a problem

If you have a 95, don't worry about your map sensor at all, and don't bother hooking anything up to it. You'll get maximum fuel without using any sort of device.

Even if you have a 96+, and you're not getting any check engine lights, I wouldn't worry. Trust me, you would KNOW if there was a problem had your MAP sensor not had the proper electronics hooked up to it! (i.e. you would be dealing with major fuel cut every time you boosted!)

As long as you've hooked it up BETWEEN the MAP and the ECU, you're fine. The wires are the exact same. It's just a matter of where along the wire you've tapped it. I put mine by the ECU.

yeah tapped mine near the ecu also.

Yeah thats what i thought....I was just trying to clear this all up....i tapped mine in right before the ecu and no problems no CEL.
When i first installed the turbo kit and had everything but the map bypass thing hooked up i started the car but the car kept dying....so i know what it felt like when it wasn't hooked up....

Without the MAP bypass, you should only get fuel cut when you're boosting and (most of the time) it won't kill the engine. I ran mine for almost 2 months w/o one. I usually only hit cut in a higher gear when I held the boost for a little while.

When I didn't have my map bypass hooked up....It wouldn't even idle....it would just stall or atleast seem like it was going to stall....I also couldn't give it much gas over 2500rpms or the car would die...

I understand what you're saying, but it should have nothing to do with the MAP bypass. It working is probably just be a coincidence. The bypass is just a stop for the MAP voltage. The ECU (as stock) will only ever see 0-4.7 Volts b/c you shouldn't see positive pressure in your manifold while NA. Therefore, when the ECU sees above 4.7V (positive pressure due to the turbo), it thinks something is wrong and cuts the fuel. Since our MAP sensor (or at least mine) doesn't work well above atmospheric pressure, fuel cut wont always happen.
