I have a question for you guys with turbos on your cars. Does your insurance cover the turbo? Does insurance go up at all? Does anything happen to insurance at all?

Thanks
Jon

just don't tell the insurance company, the only problem is that if you wreck and f#*@ up your turbo, ur out $3000.

Don't tell them it's a turbo car. Tell them it's "aftermarket parts" or "miscellaneous items in your car". My insurance covers both, so if I total the car, I hand them the reciepts for the "parts" that were "in my car" and they cover them. It's still an Eclipse RS, which is insured as a non-turbo vehicle.

Same thing for CD's or rims or bodykits... if they were stolen or burned up in a fire, my insurance covers them. Make sure this is specifically covered in your written policy, and you're good.

Alot of insurence companies such as Nationwide will cover your turbocharger because they cover ANYTHING thats apart of the car. They CANNOT charge anymore a month or year because you turbo the car!! PERIOD!! Its classed as a RS/GS. NO MATTER what you do to it, ITS STILL AN RS/GS. They cant raise rates. PERIOD!! Other insurence companies have some kind of crap that you have to pay a little more if you want your aftermarket stuff insured. You pick the amount. Heres an example. If you say you want a $3000 extra insurence on your aftermarket stereo that cost $6000 and the stereo is stolen. They will only beable to pay $3000 of that. Companies such as Nationwide will insure every single piece of equipment thats bolted down to the car. Which means stereo box, amps, turbocharger, cold-air intake, headers. Pretty much anything. You just have to proove its on the car. Pictures, receipts. Bottom line is you dont have to worry about insurence raising rates.
