Okay so I'm driving my wife's friend's dodge '02 neon and I'm thinking man this car is pretty nice. It handles better, alot quieter, peppier and alot more docile than my car. Now I'm thinking if I should go almost back to stock...
1) My car's ride is bumpy as hell even with the 235/40s it still real bumpy and it's like you can feel every little irregularity in the pavement. What makes it even worse is that ya'll know how the eclipse's steering is pretty sensitive and having lo-pro tires makes for an even more twitchy ride. For example when in that neon taking the turns were smooth and predictable...in my car the bumps throw the car off and trying to readjust makes for a alot of steering wheel play. I feel the road too much. What I'm thinking of is SELLING MY 17s and getting some stock 16s. What ya'll think.
2) then there's the issue of noise. I like a quiet ride esp on long road trips it makes the time go by faster. Yeah I know how the exhuast sounds powerful but why do you need a droning exhaust when you have the nice sounds of the BOV and spool. So I'm thinking of SELLING MY EXHUAST and getting a GST one. I know it'll worsen the lag but I guess it'll do.
3) I don't really boost alot so I'm thinking of SELLING MY STARION I/C & PIPING and switching back to the no lag stageI. I love the look of the intercooler, but it's all a trade off. With that I might SELL MY FRONT END too.
Now all of this is just MAYBE so all you vultures back off and help a brpther out. I want my car to be pleasantly driveable and not a analytical roller coaster ride. I know Stan and Rick knows where I'm comming from. ANd I'm still in the works of trying to sell my wifee's Del Sol and getting a family car - an older integ or accord. So please holla back folks cuz i'm fed up with my wild ride - THANKS

I hafta agree that the ride really depends on the wheels/tires rather than the suspension components. I mean feeling the road is good on a smooth turn but in the real world where there are bumps and holes it gets real old. I might switch back to the a stock muffler but am just worried bout getting more lag. Also with the intercooler - i just love the look of the intercooler but hate the lag - do you know if a T3 bolts right up to it? THanks

I didn't get any additional lag with the intercooler either and I had 2.5" piping but I know what you mean as far as ride, handling and noise. It takes driving a stock car around to realize what you've given up in the name of speed and looks. The ride harshness in my talon isn't linear with the amount of improvement but I didn't even notice neither was I bothered about it until I took the VW around a curve and realized I can take it nearly as fast with less agressive tires and a comfy ride. I'm sure there's a better set up but I dont have it. The noise didn't bother me as long as it was turbo noise. I dont know about any pep deficit either, it never had any low end to lose in the 1rst place and I haven driven a few cars since have yet to drive something with the top end pull of my old set up. My main problem with my car is daily reliability. I dont think I want factory suspension and 16's on it though.
