#13780, "Coil CEL"

After installing the Crane Hi-6 ignition in my car, I'm now getting a code 0351 and 0352 - Ignition Coil #1 and #2. Car seems to run fine, but as soon as I clear the codes they come right back. I did not install the tach adapters. Will putting these in get rid of the CEL? I heard some cars won't run with them in. Or is the CEL gonna be there no matter what? Thanks guys.

That is the only purpose of the tach adapters - they get rid of the check engine light. When you remove the harness from the stock coils (as in, install an aftermarket ignition) the resistance the ECu is programmed to see from the coil packs is gone, so it thinks the ignition coils are shorted. The tach adapters just add resistance to the line, so your ecu thinks everything is a-okay.
