What is DFI and what does it do?
If I were to get one is it something you just hook up and go or is it something you have to adjust and tune??

if you just showed us your knowledge of DFI's in that sentance, I would advise you to be happy with your current boost and leave it there. DFI's are fairly easy to install with common tools, but setting them up and tuning them is a different story. if you have the grand to blow on the dfi, expect to spend another grand to install, dyno tune, etc..
